History of CSAP
Protocol 6 (Version 7.0, June 16, 2010) specified the “Contaminated Sites Legal Instrument Applications which must be accompanied by a recommendation by an Approved Professional.”
- The 500th Protocol 6 Submission was processed by CSAP Society.
- CSAP Society membership hit 100 for the first time.
- Preliminary and Detailed Screening of P6 submissions was transferred from ENV to CSAP Society.
- The 100th Performance Assessment was conducted.
- Protocol 6 (Version 10.0, November 1, 2017) was updated as part of the Stage 10 Amendments to the CSR.
- The 1,000th Protocol 6 Submission was processed by CSAP Society.
To date, the most submissions are processed in a single fiscal year reaching 188.
The final report on an independent professional reliance review is published to provide recommendations to improve the current professional reliance model, the Professional Governance Act (“PGA”). CSAP Society is mentioned in the report: “The regulation of APs in the contaminated sites regime is well thought out, and generally meets the best practices set out in Section 8 [of the report], providing that the regulation of professionals by the CSAP Society is transparent to government, professional associations, and the public.”
The 200th Performance Assessment was conducted.
Protocol 6 (Version 11.0, February 1, 2021) was updated as part of the Stage 13 Amendments to the CSR.
- In January 31, CSAP Society started reviewing select applications for non-high-risk sites. These new services included reviewing applications made to support the Director’s requirements.
- Executive Director Catherine Schachtel retired after 15 years.
- Patricia Fu was secured as the new Executive Director.
Protocol 6 (Version 12.0, March 20, 2023) was updated as part of the Stage 14 Amendments to the CSR.
